Welcome to the Avon!  As a new Avon Ambassador, you’re stepping into an exciting journey of earning, sharing, and empowering. Placing your very first order is a critical step—it’s where your Avon story begins. Here’s how you can make the most out of your first order and set the stage for a successful business.

Why Your First Order Matters 

1. Activate Your Status:
Your first order turns your status from Pending to Active, officially kicking off your Avon business.

2. Warm-Up to Success:
This is your first step to understanding how Avon works—consider it a practice run to build confidence.

3. Power Up Incentive:
A qualifying first order of $100 or more helps you achieve the first tier of Avon’s Power Up Incentive. You’ll be on your way to earning exclusive product bundles, including Personal Care, Makeup, Hair Care, and more!

4. Earn 30% Commission:
By reaching $120 in Beauty and Jewelry sales, you’ll unlock 30% earnings right away! This is a great way to see immediate rewards for your efforts.

5. Lay the Foundation for Future Success:
By reaching $120 in Beauty and Jewelry sales, you qualify for 30% earnings. This is just the beginning — your Avon earnings potential grows with your sales. Orders of $350+ earn 40%, and larger campaigns can earn you up to 50%.

Steps to Building Your First  Order and Earn 30%

Step 1: Tap into Your Personal Network

Reach out to your friends, family, co-workers, classmates, neighbors, and church community—anyone you feel comfortable approaching. Share your excitement about joining Avon and let them know you’re placing your first order. People love supporting someone they care about, especially when they see your enthusiasm!


Step 2:  Aim for 5 Orders of $25

The magic number is five! Plan for five $25 orders to hit your $120 goal. For example:

  • If your personal order is $30, then aim for four additional $25 orders.
  • If your personal order is $50, aim for three additional $25 orders. Adjust the numbers based on your own needs, but keep the goal clear.

Step 3:  Share the Back Cover Deal and Other Catalog Offers

Every campaign promotes a special offer on the back cover of the brochure.  Whether it's the WOW deal bundled set offered at a great discount, a purchase with purchase offer or significantly discounted product, these deals are a great way to bring in interest. Also keep an eye out for free gift with purchase offers throughout the catalog.

Don't have brochures yet? No problem! You can share your digital brochure simply by sharing the your personal link. Then you can text, email or even create a QR Code so you can easily share it from your phone.


Step 4: Don’t Forget Non-Commissioned Products

While sales tools, brochures, demo items, and the New Ambassador Welcome Bundles  don’t earn commissions, they still count toward your $120 sales goal.  So, you can use these tools to not only support your business, but also to help maximize your earnings. You'll still want to focus on additional Beauty and Jewelry for all other orders.


Step 5: Share Shipping Costs

Combine orders with friends or family to save on shipping costs. Split the shipping fee evenly. For example, if the shipping charge is $8 and you have 5 orders, everyone contributes $2. Additionally, don’t forget to include sales tax when calculating each customer’s total. Avon will charge you the local sales tax on all combined orders, so it’s important to add this to each customer’s subtotal to cover the cost. For example, if your local sales tax is 8%, a $25 order would have an additional $2 in tax, making the total $27.


Step 5: Collect Payment from Customers

To keep your orders running smoothly, collect payment from your customers when they place their orders. This ensures you have the funds ready to pay Avon when submitting your combined order. Be clear about the total cost, including product prices, sales tax, and the shared shipping fee you calculated in Step 4.

For convenience, consider using popular payment apps like Zelle, Cash App, or Google Pay. These tools make it easy for customers to send payments instantly and securely. Remind them that collecting payments upfront helps streamline the ordering process and avoids delays.
